Right of Way Project

As you might have heard, Surf City is conducting a Right of Way project with a goal of having an 8 ft clear zone from the edge of pavement (street) to property line and clearing 2 feet adjacent to sidewalks on the property side of the sidewalk.  Some objectives of the project are to keep walking paths clear and safer for pedestrians and also allow for passing of emergency vehicles when and if needed.  The project is broken down into phases which can be seen on the color coded map at the link below with each phase proposed to take approximately 3 months.  Know when your area is subject to inspections and make sure you have made any adjustments prior.  You can always request to have a review for any violation/citation.  As we all have seen traffic is only getting worse, especially on weekends at check-in and check-out times.  It is our responsibility to make sure that the paths are safe for people but also in the event of an emergency the necessary vehicles are able to pass.
